Letter to a Canadian friend

Hello. I don´t know you but now you are going to visit Mexico, so I will tell you some things about my country.

There is a huge quantity of activities that you can do in my country. We have diverse weather, so you can visit forests, deserts, jungle, etc. In the north of Mexico you will find deserts and a dry weather. In the south you can see the Lacandona jungle, which is the largest of the whole country. You will also find a warm and humid weather in the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Oaxaca, Yucatan, and Quitana Roo. There are several archeological centers in those states that you should visit, such as Tajin, Palenque, Monte Alban, Chichen Itza, etc. Mexico is not as big as Canada, but you will find that we have a great cultural variety.

I think that you will find the way to visit and explore the whole country, if not now, perhaps someday, but I have been told that you are going to arrive Mexico City. Here, we don´t have a lot of nature but we have some historical places that may interest you. For example, the Chapultepec castle is a building on the top of a hill, surrounded by the Chapultepec forest. This is a very beautiful place and you will enjoy the history of our nation because the castle served as a fortress in the nineteenth century.

Whatever you do in Mexico I hope that you will speak Spanish all the time, so you will be an expert in the use of our language. Good luck.
